Taizé Worship – The next service is Thursday, August 5th at 7:00 p.m. If you have never experience a Taizé worship come for a quiet service of candlelight, prayers, readings, silence, and soft music with repetitive words. This service is very meditative and offers a wonderful opportunity to be silent and center on the Lord.
Come as you are—and listen.
SUNDAY POTLUCK – Come enjoy good food and great fellowship at 12:00 p.m. on July 25th in Fellowship Hall. Bring food to share as follows: A-P Salads ~ ~ Q-S Dessert ~ ~ T-Z Breads, Muffins, Rolls etc.
CHALLENGE! – Bidwell Riverside needs our help! The center’s basement was flooded after a sewer backed up do the recent floods. They had to through away “EVERYTHING” (toys, diapers, baby needs, etc)! Gowrie United Methodist has challenged their congregation to raise $500 in 5 Sundays to go toward helping Bidwell Riverside. They have “CHALLENGED” all other churches in the North Central District to meet this challenge too. Let’s see what we can do!!
Make your check out to First United Methodist and write Bidwell Riverside on the memo line. If you put cash in an envelope be sure to write Bidwell Riverside and your name on the outside of the envelope. We will start this Sunday, July 18 through Sunday, August 15. How high can we go?
BOONE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION is considering providing transportation on Sunday mornings to people to get to church. If they have enough interest and approve the Sunday bus it would be $5.00 each way for Boone residents and for those who are 60 or older they could ride to church for FREE. Please call the church office 432-4660 to let Donna know if you would be interested. When BCT gets feedback from the churches in town they will then make the decision to run the bus or not on Sundays. So call ASAP!
